Another, good wholesome Anima song!

sounds *cough* mildly simmilar to some of your other works, but then again you can say that about every artist.

I've had this on my iTunes for a while, but haven't listened to it recently. This one really reminds me of your earlier work, which I enjoyed, things like shining eyes, and frigid, notsure those exactly sound like this, but y'know, '06.

Was listening through for this review, and I was going to give it an 8 or 9, since it didn't really blow me away, but then I remembered how much I like the points where you drop the beat, and the last minute.

normally I don't like fades, but this one worked. maybe because it doesn't take very long at all.

5/5, what else would I vote?

Coming up with original sound trance is really hard, hence a lot of artists fail :P

Thanks for the review man :D

promising, but a little rough around the edges.

the Intro is... less of an intro and more of a "hey look, it's an acidy pattern". but if you ignore how you got there, it's a good pattern, and then the piano comes on to it well. the Percussion is very good.

It gets a liiiittle bit repetitive at times, around 1:30 before the synth lead comes in. sometimes you just have to shorten the "break" periods.

it's a nice piece, but it doesnt'r eally go anywhere. you have the "intro" the perc coming in, then the piano, then it leaves, then the synth, and then it just fades out (which could've been done better. how'd you make it fade? I suggest just putting the mp3 into a program like Audacity and then just using that to fade out)

all in all it could've been more dynamic, but the good beats and piano/synth riffs are there. and longer can be better, just not too long :P

regretting to give it only a 3/5,

SysRq00 responds:

Yeah, I put 'er into Audacity to do the fade. I agree with you, I could have done better for that. There's a couple things I'd like to fix, which means this might get re-uploaded some time in the near future. Thanks for reviewing!

Very good.

the way the main synth sort of skips works... but I can't say I'm entirely a fan of it. I'd've proffered the synth just going without those skips.

but the vocals are nice :D

all around good song, definitely something one could mosh to. although I find it rather pretentious of you to say your own work is one of the better tetris remixes out there. it is different, which gives you points.

~Qwerty

Draze responds:

Yes, i throw in whatever originality i can. Pretentious? Ah haha well its certainly better in comparison to my previous tetris :)

Thanks for reviewing man,

epic.

it sounds rather Epic. A lot of the time I'm having trouble hearing the lyrics clearly, but it dosen't sound bad... I'm sure the lyrics have some good meaning that go along with the music, but really, it might as well be another instrument to my ears as of now, and it works very well. you've blended Rock and Trance very well, I'm sure that wasn't easy.

Anima-Theory responds:

Yeah, I didn't really like the singing, but it seems dull without it :P

So I turned them down :D

Thanks for the review

Anima

yup. Epica's Back.

well, depending on if more songs cojme out. but this is definitely sounding like your classic stuff.

I still think the nipple song is my favourite...

"this is the... nipple song... take two...ish..."

yeah... the songwriting has definitely improved. even the not so serious song. the line about losing your pants.... it's so good.

:D

We thanks you Qwerty. You give us hope.

writers block much?

at least you did it in style.

this sounds vaguely familiar... you aren't using the same chords from VR are you?

~Qwerty

XBrav responds:

Naw it ain't the same chords as VR... actually it is quite similar to Gangsta Paradise

the drums did come out nice

if you put half this effort into other drums, it'll sound alot nicer. like the intro to Specter, it just dosen't sound all that great. this stuff does.

and the guitar is good too. that you playing, or is it the slayer?

~Qwerty

mistahmoo responds:

Danke. Yeah, i agree. I did specter when i first started FL, so it doesnt sound that good compared to my newer stuff, but whatever. No, that's slayer. I could have played it if i wanted to but i was lazy.

I do like those Drums...

I would say to add vox, but I know what you sound like. the speech synthesizer, while useful at times, dosen't really work here, as it detracts from the all-over rock-out theme of the song. also, the guitar seems kind of distant in comparison to the drums and especially the bell(?) synth you're using for the... verse I think it is? you know what I mean... the guitar just doesn't like its really there...

~Qwerty

mistahmoo responds:

Schpleh. I tried fucking around with FL Slayer but it never really worked, so i was just like, "screw it, the other guitar synth is shit", so, yeah. Oh and it wasn't bell, I used the sytrus clean metal guitar thing, it didnt have the tone it should have because it was so high in the octaves.

doot, doot doo.

a brilliant bombardment blending piano and gee-tar.

its not often piano and guitar sounds this good. 'course, they are doing the same notes...

but, a problem I have with many of your songs is:

IMPROVE
YOUR
OUTROS

just kind of fading out in less than a second with a crash or something works once in a while, and depending on a track. you muuust improve on that.

~Qwerty

cornandbeans responds:

heh I did tend to get a bit lazy back in the days. :P

I still have a problem sometimes, but I fade out the track if there isn't an obvious conclusion.

yea, repetitive.

good thing melikes the distorted guitar riff.

wots 'e saying in the beginning? can't quite tell.

I listened to the end, and the end wasn't good. the last segments are good, but the END itself is just too quick...

~Qwerty

cornandbeans responds:

"Into the Darkness."

Lame, I know. :P

That's actually not a guitar though, it's a 303. I can see how they could get confused sometimes though, I was trying to emulate Tom Morello's guitar style. :P

I make cool Music with FL8. sometimes it's more classical, sometimes it's more industrial. Go figure. No, actually, go listen to it and review it!
