Always have sound.

either have music running, or use SFX, or else it loses an entire dimension.

the full animation in the beginning looked good, just make sure to finalize all the other parts so it looks consistent and decent.

you sound silly

no offense, but you, or whoever is talking, sounds maybe like they're trying too hard. One of the most important thing for a successful series is good voicework. I'd see if anyone wants to voice-act for you on the BBS.

the actual art isn't bad, but the animation could probably flow better. As far as the editing/storyboarding whatever goes, it worked well for a trailer.

Looks good, just clean stuff up for the first episode.

needs more humour, more than simply pointing out characters doing things without reason.

try to improve your recording quality, as sometimes it isn't that great.

And of course animation can always be improved.

I like it but...

it's entirely too short. you could easily turn this into a noir music video or something. even if the music did repeat itself, you could have the screen pan up and down, have him meet his partner or whatever, and have them do something.

otherwise it's just some epilectic legs.

the art of course needed work, I would have work on getting a better sound quality version of the song, too.

I wouldn't let something stay on screen without moving that much... like your people, they could have moved limbs around a little, or even have PIcard just sort of look around, have some facial expression changes simply by tweening eyes, mouth, and eyebrows.

the actual jokes were funny, but like with the hypnotic spinny thing, you could ahve had that fade in over the words, and then have like when the people were spinning, have them move around the screen, getting smaller and larger, all while still spinning in that one direction. and then you can have both people spinning around.

it was good when there was something in the song, like the truth speech, the love speech, or the Hypnotic speech, but for the 'choruses' for the animation, there needed to be more variation.

I did like the thing you did with the kick in the latter half.

this may very well get blammed due to evil people on NG and the admitably sub-par animation, but don't be dishearted. A) NG is a cruel place, B) your jokes are funny, just work on the art.

also, look for shortcuts. you could always have drawn Picards head and shoulder instead, thereby making him look more normal, and spending more time on facial movements and such, and then for the hypnotic moving part, just have his head moving around, which can be even funnier, if done right.

all in all, good, but you may have to re-do this.

I was surprised to see my song was used in a flash. it's kind of a weird way to watch an animation, but hey, apparently it worked. I like where the story seems to be going. the sprites are good. as far as this animation itself as a movie...

Voice actors are always good. Good ones can be hard to find, but make sure people know you're looking. and if you're going to do text, perhaps have different people use different color texts, and use speach bubbles or something. at least, that's what I'd do.

also, it needs a better ending slide. the switching between words and action made for good tension, but then it just kind of goes to a black screen. something with better timing and "TBC" would be good.

but, do wahtever you want, I'm just giddy that you used my song. :D can I create anything else for your story? :P

Anyway, thanks a ton for the rating, I really wasn't expecting this to get a 3 =/ It was so short I didn't have room to use the full potential of my resources, and it was a bit rushed (3 days), I was just happy to get SOMETHING uploaded.

I am planning to get voice actors, but lip-syncing with sprites is going to be hard. The series has a depthful storyline, meaning lots of speech. But lots of action, too :) Episode 1 is going to rock your socks if you liked this one, don't worry.

And, hey, if you've got a voice, maybe you could help me a bit with that >P

it's alright, but it's really too short to tell what you're trying to do. you're generally not supposed to upload unfinished things, so I wouldn't expect this to survive very long. I'm sure the end result will be good though.

and if you're going to upload something unifinished, you could at least have an ending, instead of simply letting the song continue with absoloutely no animation.

an excelent flash animation

wow, right from the start, with the narrators arguing, it's just too gorram funny! the accents threw me off a bit at first, but the honestly give such a personality to the characters. much of the humour was verbal or from the audio, which I think is great.

only one slight plot thing that may or may not be cleared in the second one, is he says "you know whose going to be there" and he starts drooling, imagining this princess. so... do they go to the same school as a real princess, or are they making this one popular girl seem exagerrated? 'cause I didn't see no hot girl on the field trip :D

the animation was very stylish. it was a bit more cartoony than other things I've seen, but it was consistent, and when he does go to save the princess (in his head) I LOVE the line-heavy anime-action style thing you do.

also... what kind of fantasy world is this in? at first it didn't seem like earth, but then there's school, their clothing is all modern, and they reference america twice. (american pengiun bit was hilarious!)

Hey! Very nice review! Well, to clarify some points. They're making this popular girl seem exagerated, and maybe I didn't draw it too hot but she's in the field trip with them just when the blue shirt guy asks if penguins live in the South Pole. An yep it's Earth... or at least I think these two episodes reflect that. Thank you very much for your review! I enjoyed it a lot!

It entertained me.

I haven't seen saw, but that was funny. the fart joke could've been less... graphic, but at least you made up for it. and I love how nonchalant the guy is about being almost sure to die in someplace he doesn't know. some of the jokes were a little weak like the TV issues (should've been shorter, and just one larger problem. like he tries the Plasma, then it falls (explode maybe) then has to roll one of those old TV's in or something)

the rammstein bit was l33t, and I didn't really get the reaaally random stuff, but it was still entertaining.

4/5 not the best, but kept me intrigued.
